This week's issue focuses on Cutthroat Angler's Guide School. The higher powers that be put their heads together and decided we needed to respond to the growing need/ demand for a comprehensive tutorial that will prepare aspiring guides for their entry into the professional ranks. As an industry leader in providing our clients the highest quality guides on the water, we feel it only fitting that we provide a way to impart this knowledge to those that are wanting to take the next step in their fly fishing career. Keep in mind, besides being the perfect stepping stone towards pursuing fly fishing as a profession, this school also offers an unprecedented opportunity for everyday anglers to enhance their skills and become more proficient on the river.

For those of you looking for a fishing report, we are seeing major midge hatches on a variety of rivers. They're most prodominantly in size #22 and #24 in a dark olive color. Over all, our guide trips are returning with reports of great success, so we suggest you find some time inbetween runs on the mountain to wet a line.

Cutthroat Anlgers Guide Trip

The Cutthroat Anglers Guide School will provide the foundation for a future in the world of angling which can be used to seek a career as a top level guide. The course will be in-depth and thorough covering all the skills needed to be a world class professional. Our team of instructors draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience accumulated from decades of guiding everywhere from Alaska to Patagonia. Instructors have also taught apprentice guides in the Caribbean, Patagonia and throughout the Rockies. During the seven-day course we will teach the finer points of wade and drift boat guiding.

Upon the successful completion and passing of our school, you will posses the state required certifications to gain employment as a Colorado fishing guide and/or seek opportunities to guide throughout the world. Topics to be covered include: 1st Aid/ CPR Certification, Drift Boat Certification, Walk and Wade Techniques, Drift Boat Fishing, Knots and Tackle, Aquatic Entomology, The Fundamentals of Instruction, Client Services, Photography and more. This course will give you a leg up on the competition for securing a job as a fly-fishing professional.

The class runs 7 days, 10-12 hours a day, with a cost of $1400 per person. We provide the instruction, boating equipment, life jackets and lunch daily. Students should be able to provide their own fishing equipment and fishing license. Classes are limited to 8 students, with a 2-1 student to instructor ratio, and a minimum class size of 4.

We are currently booking the weeks of 4/15-4/21 and 4/22-4/28. A 50% deposit is required to hold your spot, with the balance due at class time.
