Hello to all!! This has been a very exciting Winter for all of us here at Cutthroat Anglers. We have so much to tell you that I hardly know where to begin. I will start with our new Travel Service. Trapper has partnered with Paul Hansen of Sporting Life Adventure Travel. Trap met Paul nearly a decade ago on a fishing trip returning from the Yucatan in Mexico. Paul was the pilot on the plane!! They started talking and sharing fishing stories and a new friendship was born.

Paul is a very diverse individual. Not only is he a commercial Pilot for a chartered airline, he is also a gifted guide on the Mississippi up in Minnesota for Small Mouth Bass and Muskie (more on this trip later), a Manufacturer's Representative for many well known names in the fly fishing industry and a travel company to boot!! All of this and a devoted husband and father of two children. Cutthroat is proud to be a part of this team. Together, Paul and Trap will offer some of the most distinctive fly fishing trips available. Keep an eye open on future newsletters for the new launch of the Sporting Life website also.

Last Minute Travel to Tierra Del Fuego

I have just received a special invitation for a very unique trip to Tierra del Fuego!! This is a last minute offering at a special discounted rate. This trip is for those individuals who have always wanted to land the largest Sea-Run Brown Trout in the World!

Coupled with this trip is a rare opportunity to spend 3 days of Wing-Shooting for Dove. Along with myself this trip is limited to only 5 Clients. This will be a fabulous opportunity to put down the snow shovel and pick up a rod that will bend into a horse-shoe with every fish! Check out the basic schedule below (by the way, that's my friend Nicole with a 19 pound Brown Trout in the picture taken on the same week last year).

March 16-23 at you’ll begin the week at Villa Maria, the first (lower) pools of the Rio Grande. You’ll stay there for half-the week and then transfer to Toon Ken Lodge, on the upper stretches of the Rio Grande, giving anglers 40km of water to fish throughout the week.

On the 23rd, fly back to Buenos Aires and on to Cordoba for a 3 night stat at Pica Zuro lodge for wingshooting (2.5 days).

The special: $4995pp TOTAL (does not include air, gratuities, hotel in Buenos Aires, gun rental, shooting license, shells).

The regular price for the week of fishing (6.5 days) $5495pp and 3 nights of shooting $620pp per night.

Schedule without any additional nights:

  • March 14 Depart USA
  • March 15 Arrive Buenos Aires (at 10pm tonight- fly to Rio Grande)
  • March 16 Arrive Rio Grande at 1:30am and transfer to first lodge- 20 minutes from airport
  • March 17 Awake late, fish 6 hour session Villa Maria
  • March 18-22 Full days fishing
