The flow coming out of Dillon just dropped to below 200 cfs. This is a great flow to go fish the river at. With lower flows, the water should begin to warm up, and that means more bugs! Keep an eye out for caddis and PMD's starting to hatch above Green Mountain and working their way up closer to Silverthorne in the weeks ahead. All these signs point to the Green Drakes starting in 2-3 weeks....
Through Silverthorne, it will remain a technical tailwater until the hatches reach all the way into Silverthorne. This means back to the midges and mysis.
Recommended Flies in Silverthorne: Sands Epoxy Mysis, Randy's Mysis, Solitude Mysis, Miracles, JuJuBees, WD-40's, Johnny Flashes, RS-2's, Randy's Baetis, Miracles, UV Emergers, Black Beauties, and Disco Midges
Recommended Flies between Silverthorne and Green Mountain: San Juan Worms, Dark Green Copper Johns, Chartreuse Copper Johns, Hotwire princes, CDC Pheasant tails, Barr's emergers, Hotwire caddis, Disco Midges, RS2s, Hunchback PMD, buckskin caddis, graphic caddis
