Blue River in Silverthorne - 08/20/08

Guides Rating: Guides Rating of 3 Stars
Streamflow at time of report: 284cfs

The flows have dropped again coming out of Dillon, and along with the flows so have the water temps. Fishing through Silverthorne has moved back to the midges and mysis, with caddis drys taking a few fish in the afternoons.

Fishing from Silverthorne down to Green Mountain has remained consistent. You might find a few fish eager for drakes, but you'd be better off with a caddis, especially in the afternoons. As always, nymphing has proven more effective, in the morning and waiting for risers before putting on dry flys. Hopper-dropper rigs are still effective, especially with attractor nymph beads. You could even throw some BWOs.
