In town, fishing has gotten to be fairly consistent in the past week or so. Between hatches, nymphing midges, BWOs, and shrimp has been productive. Although hatches don't occur every day, we have had reports of good dry fly fishing on a regular basis.
The story is pretty much the same with the exception of the shrimp. We have been fielding quite a few questions about Kokanee lately, and quite honestly the run has been a bit of a mystery to us this year. The fish have moved into the river, but it seems as if the run has been light and sporadic this year. There have, however, been some persistent anglers who have done well with them.
Recommended Flies: Barr's Pure Midge Larva Red, Desert Storm Red, JuJu Bee Midge, Killer Mayfly, Rainys Real Meal, Rainy's Hi Vis BWO, Brooks Spout (midge and Baetis), Sparkle Baetis, and an assortment of mysis shrimp.
