Blue River in Silverthorne - 08/07/09

Guides Rating: Guides Rating of 4 Stars
Streamflow at time of report: 225cfs

The Blue River has settled down to a mere 225 c.f.s. This being said, the fish have finally settled into their usual feeding lanes. Yes, the season is late, but one of the best in recent memory.

It's time to fish dries, stimis, and hoppers. Caddis and PMDs continue to come off in the evening. Fish a dry-dropper in the faster-moving pockets.

Recommended Nymphs: RS2s (black and gray), Rojo, BTS Olive, JuJu Baetis, Non-Beaded PTs and Princes, Barr's PMD emerger, Mercer's poxyback PMD, Barr's Pure Midge Larva Red, Cream, and Black, Desert Storm Red, WD-40/WD-50, JuJu Bee Midge, Graphic Caddis.

Recommended Dries: Stimis and Hoppers in all flavors, Elk Hair Caddis, Hi-Vis Griffith's Gnat.
