If you don't mind a bit of a hike to get into some large fish the South Platte is a great option for this time of year. Productive sub surface patterns for this time of year include Scuds, brassies, hares ears, pheasant tails, zug bugs, prince nymphs, midges, stoneflies. Look for Caddis, PMD's and Drakes on the surface and possibly some Tricos.
