A guided fly fishing trip with Cutthroat Anglers is the perfect way to experience the breathtaking Rocky Mountains. Whether you are a novice or expert angler, our staff can personally customize a guided trip to create an unforgettable fly fishing experience.
We think a guide trip is the quickest way to minimize the learning curve for beginner anglers. Learn the fundamentals of a fly casting stroke, the basics of reading water, hatches, fly selection, and the essential techniques to properly fight and land fish. Our goal is to make you prepared to fish on your own.
“Can't say enough about how you and your very helpful staff made our trout fishing visit to Silverthorne one of the best trips I've ever taken. Your advice, your guides, your patience and your knowledge helped us find good fishing and good fish.”
- Mike McRaney, Brig. Gen. USAF, Ret.
Seasoned anglers in search of local hot spots or a brush up on mechanics will also find a seasoned guide. Fly fishing is a continual education, and since our guides live and breathe the local fisheries they will definitely add new skills to even the most advanced angler’s repertoire.
As a general courtesy, every guide trip with Cutthroat Anglers includes all of the necessary gear (rod, reel, waders, boots, etc). Anglers are free to use their own gear if desired, but we extend the use of our gear for demos and/or to keep your traveling luggage weight to a minimum. We offer quality equipment from Sage, G. Loomis, Simms, and Ross Reels. Our full day traveling
