Our exclusive high altitude paradise. Nestled in the shadow of Mt. Elbert (14,441 feet), anglers can cast dry flies at an altitude just under 10,000 feet.
The Lake Fork feeds the upper reaches of the Arkansas River. Located outside of Leadville, this small tail water meanders through willows with deep cut-banks and riffles resulting in truly remarkable trout fishing.
The gentle flow of the Lake Fork features fantastic hatches of Green Drakes, Pale Morning Dunes, and Blue Winged Olives. During the peak of these hatches, anglers will find it difficult to keep trout off their hook. The dry fly fishing is superb. When the trout are hugging the bottom of the river, standard bead head nymphs and dry-dropper combos are usually enough to fool these wild trout.
This is a truly wild trout fishery. The royal mountain vistas will nearly overshadow the superb dry fly fishing this private ranch offers. This is perfect water for a half-day trip or a one-person full day trip. Additional anglers will overwhelm this fishery; however, a combination of the Lake Fork and the nearby public access on the Arkansas is a great alternative.
